ZenBusiness Charges Two Prices in Kentucky. We Charge One.

A transparent $99/year for registered agent representation in Kentucky. Address used on filings, same-day legal mail scanning, and compliance reminders are part of the rate.

Who wrote this: Kentucky Registered Agent.co, a Kentucky registered agent service that charges $99 a year and would like your business. ZenBusiness wants the same appointment. Every ZenBusiness number below is theirs, published, unedited.

Credit First

The platform is excellent. Nobody in this category has built a cleaner dashboard, and ZenBusiness got there by spending years on it. Filings, compliance alerts, delivered documents, one login. If a single console for the paperwork side of your company is what you are buying, you are buying something real.

We are not here to argue about the software. We are here to argue about the second invoice.

$99, Then $199

Standalone agent service from ZenBusiness starts at $99 plus state fees. Renewals run $199, each one. Both prices are posted. Neither is a trap.

But only one of them recurs, and recurring is the whole nature of this purchase. Kentucky requires a named agent in your record every year the entity is on the register. Companies last longer than twelve months. So $199 is the real price and $99 is the introduction.

Watch the phrase "plus state fees" too. It leaves the opening total unfixed, since the amount depends on which filings you attach to the order.

The job never changes to justify the step. Somebody stands at a Kentucky street address during business hours and takes delivery of a lawsuit. That is year one. That is also year twelve.

Four hundred dollars over five years, for a role Kentucky describes in one paragraph and applies to both columns equally.

What $99 Actually Covers

Served papers hit your portal the same day. Not the next one. An email goes out as the scan posts, because your response clock in Kentucky started at delivery.

Our Kentucky street address goes in the registered office field. Yours stays out of the public record.

A reminder lands before Kentucky's filing window closes. The state runs one window for everyone, January 1 through June 30, and the report itself is a pre-populated postcard confirming what is already on file, filed for $15, immediate when submitted online. Miss it and KRS 14A.6-010 starts a clock. July 1 puts you in bad standing, a 60-Day Notice follows by post, and administrative dissolution lands if nothing arrives by roughly the end of August. We would rather you never meet that sequence.

One optional charge exists on top of the $99, and we quote it here: $15 an item to image general business mail alongside your legal documents. Two different fifteens now appear on this page, so pin them down. The state's $15 buys a report filing. Our $15 buys a scan of one piece of mail. Same digits, no relationship.

Not the cheapest, either. BetterLegal posts $90 and that is lower than $99. Say we are among the lowest flat annual rates in this state and you have it right. Say we are the lowest and you do not.

How ZenBusiness Comes Off Your Kentucky Filing

One document, one fee. The Statement of Change of Registered Agent and Office carries the letter code RAC on Kentucky's form list, goes to the Kentucky Secretary of State, and costs $10. Paper works. So does FastTrack, the state's online filing system, which processes on submission and emails a receipt. Kentucky codes filings with letters rather than numbers, so RAC is the entire form number.

Order matters more than speed. New agent appointed first, RAC filed second, ZenBusiness subscription cancelled last, after the state's business search shows the change. Kentucky wants that field filled continuously and a lapse is not a paperwork technicality.

Then look back at the table. The exit costs $10. The gap between the columns is $100 a year. Leaving is not the expensive part.

Our change of agent page has the filing in detail.
